Drop is thrilled to welcome Chef Jessica Entzel to Drop Recipes! Jessica Entzel is one of the country’s most talented chefs and we’re kicking things off with five of her recipes available today!

Jessica has worked with some of the most famous lifestyle brands and chefs in America, be it at Martha Stewart’s photo studio in NYC or as a Pastry Chef with Iron Chef Morimoto in Napa. In 2013, she was nominated for ‘People’s Best New Pastry Chef’ by Food & Wine Magazine, and picked to be on Zagat’s ’30 under 30 – Bay Area’ list. A recent winner and reigning champion on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen, Jessica has also cooked for Jean-Georges, Wolfgang Puck, and Gordon Ramsay.

We asked Jessica to share her thoughts about cooking, Drop and the recipes she’s created for Drop users, so we’ll hand the keyboard over to Chef Jessica Entzel:

Eat real food. This is a mantra I have always believed in, and was ingrained in me as a child. Cooking from scratch was my family’s lifestyle and something that I had always believed was the norm. As I grew older, I realized I had been living in luxury–my mother was naturally a terrific cook. Being a young 20-something in NYC, I realized that among millennials, eating out was much more common. Cooking was looked upon as a lost art, filed away next to handwritten letters. Why? Because many people didn’t know how, and didn’t have the patience to learn.

I was thrilled to hear about Drop! Finally, a platform to help people cook with ease, to put all the science of baking in the back-end of an app, and to take all of guess-work out of results. The Drop experience feels like a cooking mentor working next to you in the kitchen while you turn out your concoction.

I’m excited to share some of my favorite recipes with the Drop community. Over the past decade, I’ve worked for some of the biggest names in food: Wolfgang Puck, Morimoto, Gordon Ramsay, Jean Georges, and even Martha Stewart. I’ve won cooking competitions and stand as the reigning champion of Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen. My recipes will satisfy your sweet tooth and show off your inner pastry prowess! 😉

Strawberries in a bowl of panna cotta with a spoon to the side on a wooden surface

Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Strawberry Fluid Gel

This is one of my husband’s favorite desserts. I made him this for Valentine’s Day when we first started dating, with fresh strawberries and strawberry fluid gel. It was love at first bite!

Miso Peanut Butter Cookies on a Slate Surface

Miso Peanut Butter Cookies

This was one of my best-selling desserts and most sought-after recipes when I was the Pastry Chef at Morimoto Napa. It has a very deep, and developed nuttiness from the brown butter and nut pastes.

Peanut and Caramel-Corn in a bowl

Caramel Corn with Peanuts

I love to make this sweet snack for parties. It’s simple to make and easy to snack-on while mingling.

Green ice pops on a plate

Pineapple-Ginger Kale Pops

I love having a pop after a run in the morning–cools me down immediately and I don’t have to prep anything. Green Juice is so hot right now, but I can’t enjoy it unless it’s ice cold. This is the perfect solution for achieving “ice cold” without watering it down.

Slice of coconut lime cake on a plate with fork

Coconut-Lime Tres Leches Cake

My brother is lactose intolerant, but loves this dairy-free version of Tres Leches I make for him, especially after a spicy Mexican meal.

Thanks Jessica! We’re sure everyone will agree that the hardest part about making these recipes will be choosing which one to make first. Luckily, with the Drop Recipes app, it’s easy to favorite them so you can access them quickly when you’re ready to get cooking.

If you haven’t experienced Drop Recipes yet, the free app is available in the App Store and with it you can access all of Jessica Entzel’s recipes along with hundreds more!
