Today, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Electrolux, a global leader in home appliances.

We started in 2014 with our first piece of connected hardware: Drop Scale, our connected kitchen scale that works with the Drop Recipes app. Now, we’re on a mission to unite the world’s appliances, connected and non-connected alike, onto one platform, allowing them to integrate effortlessly with our appliance-ready recipes.

We’ll be working closely with Electrolux to build some very exciting additions to our appliance family, and we can’t wait to share the results with you. Our CEO Ben Harris nicely sums up how we all feel about this:

“Electrolux is one of the world’s most reputable brands and it goes without saying that we’re excited about this opportunity to work with them; to create smart kitchen products and features that provide real value, every single day, to the people who use them.”

Soon, Drop Recipes users will be able to control a wide range of countertop appliances from Electrolux. Here’s what Ola Nilsson, CEO of Electrolux Home Care & SDA, has to say about it:

“We’re excited to partner with Drop and to further explore new ways of making the cooking experience more simple and personalized.”

Electrolux with be joining our growing list of valued partners along with Bosch, GE Appliances, Kenwood, De’Longhi and LG Electronics.

This partnership is especially exciting for us as Electrolux are known for their intuitive, considerate design focus — something that also drives what we build here at Drop.

“Electrolux is in many ways an ideal partner for us: ever since the company’s inception in Stockholm almost a hundred years ago, they have had a strong focus on intuitive product design. Drop was founded by designers, so we share the same passion for building experiences around products that simplify and improve users’ lives.” —Ben Harris, Drop CEO

We’ll keep you posted on updates as they come, and in the meantime, if there are any connected or non-connected appliances you would like to be able to use with the Drop Recipes app, please let us know in the comments or via mail.
